It is an austenitic heat resistance forged fittings with great resistance to oxidation under fluctuating conditions up to 2000 deg F. SS 310 contain chromium and nickel content similar corrosion resistance and elevated resistance to oxidations and retention of large amount in the nominal temperature than austenitic grades. These forged fitting are frequently utilized at cryogenic temperatures with greater toughness to -450 deg F. it has excellent low magnetic properties after hot working operations. Type 310 forged fittings are promptly manufactured by standard manufacturing operations. In comparison to standard grade forged fittings, these are tougher and tend to work harden quickly. By using all of the common welding operations Stainless Steel 310 Forged Fittings can be welded readily.
Machining of these forged fittings is the same as other 300 series grades. Resistance and fusion welding operations are used for quick welding. However, oxyacetylene welding is not preferred. Filler materials may be used. all hot uniform working operations are performed up to 1177 deg C with most hot working methods. Forging down to 982 deg C is not recommended. Fast cooling is required to attain optimum corrosion resistance.
DESCRIPTION
Stainless Steel 310 Forged Fittings have higher work hardening rates, stamping, heading or upsetting can be used. For internal stress reliving full annealing, operation is required such as cold working.
CONCLUSION
After annealing temperatures up to 1038 to 1121 deg C and quenched with water. However, hardening is not done by cold working operations. Cold working operations tends to improve strength and hardness.
